| A Half Legion Fort The size of the fort at Mancetter suggests that it was meant to provide accommodation and protection for a Half Legion (approximately 2,500 men). Working with Colin Baddeley, a local amateur archaeologist, we have recreated the way the fort may have appeared. Although we are sure of the position of the outer ditches the internal buildings are placed as experience suggests they might have been found. |
